Skelt integration in the French International Group SICAME GROUP

Continuing the transformation and development of its Electrical Transmission Business Unit, SICAME GROUP, a world-leading SME in accessories and services related to the transmission and distribution of electric energy, has just acquired the Portuguese company SKELT.

Since its inception 35 years ago, SKELT has been developing and producing high-voltage line accessories, connecting elements for sub-stations, and grounding ranges. This set of solutions has allowed the company to be a leader in its domestic market and to have developed in exports especially in Europe, Africa and Latin America. SKELT, whose site is located on the outskirts of Porto, has a turnover of 4.2 million euros in 2019 and has a workforce of 65 people.

For the Group, the acquisition of SKELT will strengthen its position in strategic geographical areas in major infrastructure projects, particularly in Africa and South America. In addition, the contribution of the production methods and the know-how of the Portuguese company will accelerate the development of the entire Business Unit with a specific focus on competitiveness.

For SKELT, this is an opportunity to be part of a globally established SME, enabling the company to expand within the international subsidiaries of the Transmission Business Unit and through a global network of business partners.
